The Heights

UP TO THE HEIGHTS

Kavanaugh Boulevard, with its locally owned gift shops, art galleries and restaurants, winds up the hill to The Heights.

Compared with nearby neighborhood Hillcrest, The Heights has homes that are larger and more expensive.  To get a full sense of being in The Heights, one only has to stand on the grounds of the private Little Rock Country Club and enjoy the incredible views of the downtown area, complete with a true appreciation of the journey the Arkansas River takes through the city.

The Heights can be a city unto itself.  It is home to many of the state's CEO's and descendents of many of the city's first business leaders.  Many residents confess they rarely need to leave the neighborhood because everything they need is within walking distance: chic boutiques, restaurants, and book and toy stores.  The Heights still has locally owned neighborhood grocers that deliver.

Second generations are coming back to live in their old neighborhood, in addition to new residents looking for a quiet pace.  Homes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars are being torn down to make way for much larger and more expansive homes on the same lots, but as with Hillcrest, the ambiance is still there.  Streets such as Edgehill that overlook the Arkansas have survived multiple home expansions and offer incredible views of the city and beyond.
