COMMUNITY ON THE RISE

When the planned community of Maumelle came to light in the 1970s, it was  deemed "a new hometown coming true."  That motto still applies today to this pleasant and welcoming town located between Little Rock and North Little Rock.

With a growing population of 13,000, Maumelle has made a name for itself as a hometown of choice in central Arkansas.  The city's growth doesn't mean it has lost its original goal of being a comfortable and safe community.

Amenities include a newly renovated recreation complex, The Jesse Odom Community Center, which is open to all Maumelle residents and their guests.  The lower floor of the community center hosts the double gymnasium.  The center also houses a health club with cardio and weight room.  Rooms are available to rent for events and special occasions.

Maumelle also offers an active youth sports league that is a big hit with families.  Everything you need is right off Maumelle Boulevard, the primary way to home, shopping and dining.  Restaurants are plentiful-eateries such as Cock of the Walk have been feeding the locals for as long as the city has been in existence.  The good food draws dinners from throughout the area.

Maumelle has beautiful park areas that include neighborhood playgrounds, basketball courts and more than 13 miles of paved trails.  Residents also have access to wooded greenbelts throughout the city.  Picnicking and fishing are available at Lake Valencia and Lake Willastein.

Golf is a short drive from anywhere in Maumelle.  The Country Club of Arkansas and the Maumelle Country Club offer 18 hole manicured greens with PGA professionals on staff.  The pros teach private lessons and clinics for adults and youngsters.

The semiprivate championship course at the Country Club of Arkansas was designed by Robert Miller and touts its tournament services.  The breathtaking, rolling terrain of the championship course is 6,500 yards in length.  The course delivers both meticulous playing conditions as well as challenging holes certain to appeal to the most discriminating of championship golfers.  From personalized score cards to logo merchandise and special signage, even the most elite golfer will find the club up to par.  The clubhouse has been expanded, and the covered patio is great pre-outing gathering place.

Maumelle Country Club's private course offers a challenge to even the most experienced golfer.  Eighteen holes of beautiful terrain and natural surroundings await players for year round entertainment.

The club offers leisure golf year round and competitive golf monthly through the Men's & Women's Golf Association.  Special events including banquets and wedding receptions are also welcome in the club's main rooms.
